Welcome.
Writing, Painting, & All the Things
Hello there, and welcome to my website. I’m an amateur hobbyist. Which mostly means I like to do…all the things. I write, do watercolours, host and produce a family podcast, sew [mediocre] costumes for my children, make up silly little jingles, and have a huge passion for hospitality. They’re all things that bring me joy. But writing, in particular, is how I express myself and how I process my life (particularly my personal story and experience with trauma). I have not published anything, and I don’t know if I ever will, but I do know that I need a place to put the things I create.
So welcome to my website. If you have experienced trauma, or know someone who has, I hope you can find some degree of comfort in my words, or at least encouragement in knowing you are not alone on your journey. We all have our own paths in life, but we are all human. As Nicholas Wolterstorff says in Lament for a Son, referencing his expression of grief: “to my surprise, in its particularity there is universality.”
In a way, we are all the same.
Throughout these "pages,” you can follow my watercolour journey, trauma-informed writing, and musings on Christianity, motherhood, womanhood, politics, and relationships. Take some time, look and read around, and feel free to send me your thoughts.
I would love to hear from you.
